Recent Event Additions
We’re continuing a number of the things that we added in 2025 to make the Heart of Virginia Bike Festival more enjoyable for riders! We hope you’ll enjoy yourself with a great ride and a great time!
| Routes: | The routes for the English Century and the Metric Century are the same as those that we did for the first time in 2025. The loops of previous years’ routes became clockwise rather than counterclockwise and took in some different roads. The rest stops are a mixture of old and new and occur at different points along the route. We think you’ll like them as much as those who rode them last year. |
| Getting Things off to a Good Start | To help get things started Grit Coffee will be providing iced coffee at the beginning of the ride. |
| Lunch (including Beer or Wine)- | Some of the biggest changes happen after you’ve finished your ride. The lunch is always good. This year, for the over 21 crowd, your choice of liquid refreshments can include BEER or WINE. Your registration includes two beer/wine tickets (be sure to bring ID). Also, Waffles on Wheels will be offering one small plain waffle (no toppings, no fruit) for every registered cyclist who is riding on event day, Sept 19. The offer is only good at the event site, from 12 to 4 pm, at their food truck. |
| Tent Placement: | The tents for lunch and socializing are in the same place where they were moved to last year (2025). They’re back behind the old courthouse and located between trees that will provide the shade that’s usually welcome at this often warm and sunny September event. |
| Live Music: | There will also be live entertainment this year. Between Noon and 3 pm, Coleman, Fuller and Tucker will perform.
